Bearscombe

Bearscombe stands in the countryside just outside Modbury, near Ugborough, all on one level with stairless access throughout, which makes it a practical choice for anyone who prefers to avoid stairs. The king-size and twin bedrooms sit close to a bathroom with a bath and hand-held shower, and a separate cloakroom has its own basin and WC.

A living/dining room with a Juliet balcony looks over the surrounding valley, and the kitchen has a breakfast table for morning meals. Guests share use of an indoor swimming pool, solar heated, with one other holiday let on site; towels for the pool aren't provided and, because the heating depends on the sun, the water temperature isn't guaranteed.

Outside there's a paved area at the front and a gravelled area to the rear, plus a field below the property running down to a river and several ponds, useful for a short walk or letting a dog stretch its legs. Ample off-road parking is provided, and the kitchen is fitted with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer, with WiFi throughout thanks to the property's Airband connection.

Bearscombe welcomes up to two well-behaved dogs, with an enclosed patio area doubling as a gated spot for them and a lovely spot for morning coffee. A cot and highchair are available, smoking isn't permitted, and the nearest shop and pub are around 2 miles away.
