Alpha Cottage

Alpha Cottage stands by the river in Dittisham, about 6.6 miles from Dartmouth. Restored by its current owners using traditional methods and oak timber from their own woodlands in Wales, this 1750s cottage takes one well-behaved pet and sleeps 4 across two bedrooms.

The king-size bedroom has its own en-suite shower room, and the twin bedroom shares a second shower room reached by a handmade staircase that is steep and uneven, with a rope banister, so it needs care. Headspace in the shower room is limited, there are steps up to the kitchen/diner, and the en-suite shower is heated once a day through a tank, though a second, electric shower is also fitted.

A woodburning stove in the sitting room is the main source of heating for the cottage, backed up by an electric fire in the king-size bedroom. The kitchen/diner has an electric oven, an induction hob, a fridge-freezer and a dishwasher, and there's a TV and WiFi for evenings in. A starter pack for the woodburning stove is included with the rent, along with fuel, power, bed linen and towels.

Ample roadside parking is available outside, and the enclosed rear courtyard has a picnic bench and a barbecue for eating alfresco. One well-behaved pet is welcome for a small charge, the river is 0.1 miles away, the pub 0.5 miles and the shop 5.6 miles, and the cottage is no smoking.
