2 The Manor House, Hillfield Village

2 The Manor House is a ground-floor apartment set within the country house at Hillfield Village, about four miles from Dartmouth. It sleeps 4 across two bedrooms, all on the ground floor, with a stone terrace off the open-plan living area for sitting out with a book.

The kitchen, dining space and lounge form one open-plan room, fitted with a four-ring Neff ceramic hob, fan-assisted oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. A Smart TV sits in the lounge, and WiFi covers the apartment.

The master bedroom has a king-size bed, and the second bedroom has twin beds, sharing a family bathroom between them. Electric heating and double glazing keep the apartment warm, and all duvets, bed linen and bath and hand towels are supplied, though beach towels are not.

Hillfield Village gives guests use of its gardens, an all-weather tennis court and a children's play area, though barbecues and e-scooters are not permitted on site. Smoking is not allowed and the apartment does not accept pets. From here it's a short drive to Dartmouth's riverside shops and restaurants, or on to the coves along the Start Bay coastline.

The apartment sits within the Manor House itself, at the centre of the Hillfield Village development. The play area has a climbing frame, slide and swings, open all year round, though tennis rackets and balls are not provided for the court.
