Salcombe Town Regatta runs from Saturday 31 July to Saturday 7 August 2027, bringing a full week of water sports, community events and family entertainment to the South Devon estuary. Dinghy racing organised by Salcombe Yacht Club takes place Monday 2 to Friday 6 August, with competitors becoming honorary club members for the duration.

On the water
Dinghy racing runs Monday to Friday with five days of fleet racing, culminating in Friday’s Pursuit Races for adults and juniors. Competitors in the Pursuit Race start at staggered times based on boat speed, with the boat leading when the cannon fires after 90 minutes declared the winner. A fancy dress competition for best-dressed crews adds to Friday’s fun atmosphere.
Rowing races, raft races and swimming competitions take place throughout the week. The regatta emphasises the fun side of water sports alongside competition, with camaraderie on and off the water a key feature.
On the land
Land-based events include the fun run, dog show, children’s activities, live music, arts and crafts market and food stalls. The traditional Floral Dance returns by popular demand. Many events are free; some activities have entry fees to support local charities.
Salcombe Yacht Club welcomes regatta competitors and their families throughout the week, with the bar open all morning and lunch served from midday.
