voco Zeal Exeter Science Park, by IHG

voco Zeal Exeter Science Park is IHG's first net zero carbon hotel, a 142-room property built into Exeter Science Park just off Junction 29 of the M5. Three sides of the building are clad in solar panels, and triple glazing and airtight construction cut energy use to roughly a third of a typical hotel's.

ISCA Restaurant and Bar runs an open kitchen serving seasonal dishes from local suppliers, with English wines and local beers on the drinks list. Rooms are finished in neutral tones, some with a kitchenette and sofa bed for longer stays, and a fitness centre and south-facing terrace overlooking the gardens are open to all guests.

Exeter Cathedral is about 3.7 miles away, reachable via a nearby park-and-ride into the historic centre, and Exeter International Airport is roughly 1.9 miles from the hotel. Crealy Theme Park is also within reach for a family day out, and on-site parking runs at £10 a day for guests arriving by car.

**Best for:** Guests wanting a modern, sustainability-focused hotel near the M5 with a restaurant, gym and easy access to Exeter's centre.

**Less good for:** Guests wanting to stay inside the historic city itself rather than at the Science Park on its edge.
