The Wood Barn

The Wood Barn is a detached 16th-century cottage set on a working sheep farm near South Molton, sleeping up to four guests across two bedrooms. The property retains much of its original character, with beamed ceilings in the bedrooms upstairs and a cosy lounge centred around a wood burner, with logs provided.

The kitchen/diner looks out over the surrounding hills, and French doors from the lounge open onto an enclosed private garden with a terraced seating area. Children have exclusive use of a play area on site, and a highchair is provided for younger guests. Note that if the property is booked to its full capacity of four, there is no space for a travel cot to be used.

There is one bathroom, fitted with a bath, separate shower and WC, plus an additional separate WC upstairs; these separate WCs are not extra bathrooms. Practical extras include a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and electric oven, along with a smart TV in the lounge and a welcome pack on arrival. The property has a private water supply and wifi.

Private parking is available for two cars outside the cottage. Dogs are not permitted, and the property is let for holiday use only, with no commercial bookings accepted. A pub lies around 2.5 miles away and a shop about 3 miles away, with South Molton itself close enough for shopping trips or a Devon cream tea.
