The Shippon

The Shippon is a converted barn at Colehouse Farm, a working farm with the owners on-site, near Winkleigh. Formerly a milking parlour serving the farm until the 1950s, it's now built on a single storey throughout and looks over the surrounding valley. A sitting room and kitchen make up the main living space, and the cottage sleeps 2 in a double bedroom.

The shower room has a walk-in shower, basin, heated towel rail and WC. The kitchen is fitted with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher and a coffee maker, and there's a TV and WiFi for evenings in. Bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

Outside, an enclosed rear garden has decking, a patio, furniture, a BBQ and a private hot tub, with valley views across the countryside. There's a low step at the front entrance and a low doorway leading out to the garden, worth planning around for anyone unsteady on their feet.

Off-road parking is provided for 2 cars, though charging electric vehicles is not permitted on site. The shop and pub are both around 3.5 miles away, with the village of Winkleigh itself offering a shop, post office, butcher and two pubs. No pets are allowed and the property is no smoking.
