The Old Laundry

The Old Laundry stands on the edge of North Tawton, a converted laundry building on the working Ashridge Court estate, which spans nearly 400 acres of woodland and fields. The cottage keeps wood panelled walls and a mix of period features from its conversion, set over two floors. It sleeps 3 across two bedrooms, and the property does not take bookings that include children.

The ground floor opens into an entrance hallway leading to a cloakroom and utility room, fitted with a freezer, Belfast sink, washing machine and dryer. The open-plan kitchen, dining and sitting area has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and a TV with Roku. A woodburning stove sits in the sitting area, backed by underfloor heating run from a ground source heat pump, and a ground-floor cloakroom has its own basin and WC.

Upstairs are the two bedrooms: a king-size double and a single room with a wardrobe. They share a bathroom with a separate shower, basin and WC. WiFi covers the cottage, and fuel, power and a starter pack for the fire are included in the rent, along with bed linen and towels.

Outside, a secluded patio has seating for quiet evenings, and off-road parking includes an EV charger point for guests to use. Two pets are welcome, though smoking is not permitted inside. The nearest pub is 2.3 miles away, and North Tawton itself has a handful of pubs and shops within the village.
