The Old Apple House

This detached property sits along a private drive near Monkleigh, close to Bideford in North Devon, and sleeps up to eight guests across four bedrooms. The inverted layout places all bedrooms on the ground floor, with two kingsize rooms, a twin and a bunk room; one kingsize room has floor-to-ceiling windows over a courtyard and its own en-suite shower room with WC. The remaining bedrooms share a separate ground-floor bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC.

Upstairs, a vaulted lounge with exposed beams and a woodburner (logs provided) makes use of low-level windows and skylights, opening onto a kitchen-diner equipped with a double electric oven, hob, microwave, two fridges, a freezer and a coffee machine. A separate utility room houses the washing machine and tumble dryer, keeping laundry away from the main living space.

Outside, a large walled garden set mainly to lawn is enclosed and gives plenty of room for games, while two separate courtyard gardens offer garden furniture and a barbecue for quieter use. A private hot tub is available for guests staying at the property, and there is ample off-road parking on site. Internet access is provided throughout.

Up to four dogs are welcome, though additional charges may apply, and a travel cot and highchair are supplied for younger visitors. Arrival is from 14:30 and departure before 10:00, with beaches, pubs and shops around a ten-minute drive away.
