The Croft

The Croft is a four-bedroom townhouse in Ilfracombe sleeping eight guests across two doubles and two twins, spread over first and second floors. Two dogs are welcome, with additional charges that may apply. Arrival is from 16:00 and departure before 10:00, so it is worth planning your first and last days accordingly.

The layout gives larger groups room to spread out. A ground-floor hall leads to a kitchen with electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer and microwave, and through to a separate dining room. The main lounge has a TV with Sky Freeview, Blu-ray player and a Sony hi-fi; on the first floor a snug provides a second TV and DVD player for those wanting to watch something different. A further snug on the second floor has a PlayStation and a sofa bed for flexible sleeping. Three washing facilities serve the group: a family bathroom with bath and shower over and WC at the half landing, a shower room with WC on the first floor, and an additional shower room on the second floor.

Outside, a courtyard garden with furniture provides a sheltered spot for meals or an evening drink. Parking is unallocated on-street rather than a dedicated space, which is worth factoring in if the group arrives in more than one car. A travel cot, stairgate and highchair are available, making the property practical for families with young children.

Rapparee Cove is half a mile away, and a pub is approximately 150 metres from the door. The nearest shop is around a mile distant. Tunnels Beaches, with its Victorian cliff tunnels and tidal pool, is among the other beaches accessible from town, and the South West Coast Path is reachable for longer clifftop walks.
