The Bothy - Holcombe Burnell Farm

The Bothy is a converted barn on a working farm near Longdown, just outside Exeter, offering a self-contained base for two guests. A boot room greets arrivals with space to hang coats and leave muddy boots, useful given the surrounding farmland and footpaths, and a shower room with WC is positioned close to this entrance area.

The single bedroom is a spacious super-king-size room set at the end of the barn, warmed by a double-sided wood burner shared with the adjoining lounge. Original beams feature throughout the open-plan lounge and diner, which also has a television and dining space, while the kitchen is fully fitted with an electric range, hob, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and a combined washing machine/dryer. Underfloor heating runs throughout the property, and a first basket of logs is provided for the wood burner.

Outside, guests have use of a communal courtyard shared with the farm, set up with a dining table, chairs and a BBQ for outdoor meals. Private off-road parking is provided for two vehicles, and wifi is available throughout the property. A travel cot and highchair can be supplied for younger visitors.

A four-night minimum stay applies, and dogs cannot be accommodated. The property can also be booked together with a neighbouring property sleeping a further four guests for larger groups travelling together; enquire for details. Check-in is from 4pm and checkout by 10am.
