The Barn

The Barn stands in the Otter Valley outside Honiton, a converted stone and cob barn with exposed beams and a mezzanine snug tucked above the main living space. The market town itself is roughly a 20-minute walk away. The property sleeps 9 across five bedrooms and two bathrooms, set within a large, mature garden.

Five bedrooms are split across two floors: a ground-floor double and a ground-floor single, plus two more doubles and a twin upstairs, one of the upstairs doubles with its own basin. A ground-floor shower room and a separate ground-floor bathroom with a corner bath and walk-in shower cover the two bathrooms.

The open-plan living room combines a kitchen, dining area and sitting area around a woodburning stove, with the mezzanine snug above for quiet time or overflow seating. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, and there's a separate utility room. Oil central heating and the woodburner cover the colder months, with fuel and power included in the rent, and WiFi plus a TV with DVD player for evenings in.

Outside, extensive gardens and a patio area hold a pizza oven and furniture, though the paths, parking area and garden are uneven in places, the garden includes a water feature whose depth varies with the seasons, and there are steps between some areas of the property. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome but must stay downstairs, as any upstairs-related cleaning is deducted from the booking bond. Off-road parking is provided along with a lockable shed for cycles, and smoking is not permitted. Shops are 1.1 miles away and the nearest pub 0.3 miles.
