Stargazers Lodge

Raised on a private platform within its own field in Roborough, near Great Torrington, this glamping lodge sleeps six across three bedrooms: a king-size, a twin and a double cabin room tucked into a separate cosy cabin. One shower room with WC serves the lodge. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, and private parking is available for two cars.

Six steps bring you up onto a large, glass-balustraded veranda before you step inside to an open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area. Vaulted ceilings and natural wood throughout give the space an airy feel. A wood burner heats the lodge; the first basket of logs is supplied and further buckets can be purchased from the owner for £5 each. All beds have electric blankets. The kitchen is fitted with a gas hob, fridge-freezer and microwave, and a Smart TV is provided for evenings in.

Outside, the enclosed private field has a deck, hammocks, outdoor furniture, a BBQ and a fire pit. A shared games room on site has a pool table, darts and a table tennis table. The owner can arrange catering, including homemade meals and farm-reared sausages, bacon and eggs delivered to the lodge, and Pilates sessions and pampering treatments can also be booked directly. Guests are invited to join daily animal feeds at 8am, meeting the farm's donkeys, horses, hens, pigs, sheep and resident dogs. Off-lead walking across around 200 acres down to the river is also accessible from the property.

A pub is roughly a mile away and a shop around four miles. The lodge can be booked alongside two neighbouring properties on the same site, subject to availability, making it suitable for larger gatherings. Arrival is from 14:00 and departure before 10:00.
