Penhill Tack Room

Penhill Tack Room sits in Fremington, near Barnstaple, with views over the river Taw. This converted property sleeps two in a single bedroom, reached via a mezzanine-style staircase, and features a super-king-size bed along with clothing storage. Instow's coastal restaurants and Barnstaple's shops, cinema and theatre are both within reach, while the beaches at Croyde, Saunton Sands and Westward Ho! lie further afield for a day out.

The ground floor opens into a bright, open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining space with underfloor heating, exposed beams and a wood burner supplied with a first basket of logs. A Smart TV sits in the lounge area, and the kitchen is fitted with an electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge/freezer. A separate utility area holds the washing machine and tumble drier. A shower room with rainfall shower and WC completes the downstairs; there is no separate bathroom.

Outside, a spacious enclosed garden with outdoor seating suits guests travelling with dogs, and a wood-fired hot tub is provided with towels and robes for soaking in the evening. An orchard beyond the garden can be reached for a stroll, though sturdy footwear or wellies are advisable underfoot. Off-road parking is available for one car, and electric vehicle charging is provided on site.

Two dogs are welcome, with additional charges applying. Internet access is available throughout. A shop and pub are around a mile away, with the beach roughly four miles from the property. Check-in is from 3pm and check-out before 10am.
