Oyster Cottage

Oyster Cottage stands in the village of St Ann's Chapel, near Bigbury, a white-washed cottage with a designated parking space just outside its walled garden. As you step inside, a utility room and cloakroom sit off the hallway, ahead of an open-plan living space holding the kitchen, a dining table for four and a sitting area with a woodburning stove.

The cottage has two bedrooms: a double with an en-suite shower room, and a twin, served by a family bathroom with a bath. Two stairgates are fitted at the top and bottom of the stairs, and the cottage only takes bookings of 2 adults, or 2 adults with 2 children or infants, so it suits young families rather than larger groups.

The kitchen is fitted with an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a washing machine and a dishwasher, and the sitting area has a Netflix-enabled Smart TV, WiFi and a selection of books, games and toys. A walled rear courtyard garden has furniture and a barbecue, and there's a further enclosed front courtyard. A playground is about 100 yards from the front door.

One small, well-behaved dog is welcome, kept downstairs only. Smoking is not permitted, and the cottage has stairs inside, so it may not suit less mobile guests. Bookings run to a minimum of 3 nights and Sunday check-ins are not accepted, with a shop and pub both under a 100-yard walk away and the beach 2 miles away.
