Newton Cross House

This Georgian manor house stands in the village of Newton Tracey, a rural setting within North Devon. It sleeps up to eight guests across four individually styled bedrooms, making it suited to a family gathering or a group of friends sharing the space comfortably.

On the ground floor, a practical entrance porch leads into a statement hallway before opening onto several social spaces, including a main living room, an open-plan snug and dining area, and a recently renovated kitchen with a Lacanche range cooker, large fridge/freezer, coffee machine and dishwasher. The hardwood dining table seats eight, and a wood burner with an initial basket of logs adds warmth on cooler evenings. A utility room provides washing machine facilities.

Upstairs, the first floor holds one king-size bedroom and one generously sized king bedroom, while the top floor houses a further king-size bedroom and a double. Two bathrooms serve the house: one with a free-standing bath and separate walk-in shower, the other a shower room with WC. A travel cot and highchair can be requested in advance.

Outside, a private driveway offers parking for four cars, and the large front lawn suits children, dogs and relaxed play. Beyond the driveway, an outdoor entertaining area includes an outdoor kitchen, picnic bench and sun loungers, along with a private hot tub overlooking a small pond. The pond is unfenced, so young children and pets should be supervised nearby. Up to three dogs are welcome, though additional charges may apply, and a pub is within easy walking distance for food and drink.
