Merrydale

Merrydale is a three-bedroom semi-detached home in Newton Poppleford, set within the East Devon National Landscape and sleeping up to four guests across two double rooms and a single. Access is via a short flight of steps into the front conservatory, so anyone who cannot manage stairs should check suitability before booking. Two parking spaces are available on site, and no dogs are permitted.

The interior follows a neutral colour scheme throughout. The conservatory at the front looks out over fields where horses and ponies are frequently seen. Beyond it, the lounge has comfortable seating, a TV and an electric fireplace for cooler evenings. The kitchen/diner at the rear is equipped with an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, freezer, microwave and coffee machine, alongside an island breakfast bar and bench seating beneath a skylight. A downstairs WC sits off the hallway, and the upstairs shower room contains a large shower with WC. One double bedroom overlooks the rear garden, while the second double and the single room both face the front garden.

Front and rear gardens include seasonal planting and paved seating areas. Two small ponds feature in the garden; children must be supervised near the water at all times. A pub is half a mile away, and the nearest shop is around four miles distant.

Sidmouth, roughly five miles away, sits on the Jurassic Coast and gives access to South West Coast Path walking routes toward Branscombe and Beer. The Donkey Sanctuary and Crealy Theme Park are both within six miles, making this a practical base for families. A travel cot and highchair are available on request.
