Meadow View

Meadow View is a one-bedroom cottage in open countryside just outside Modbury, with far-reaching views across the fields towards Dartmoor from the bedroom window. The nearest destination page is Diptford, though the cottage itself sits closer to Modbury's own shops, pubs and restaurants. The front door opens straight into a light, open-plan living area with leather sofas, a flatscreen TV and a glass dining table that seats four.

The galley-style kitchen is fitted with a fridge, oven, ceramic hob and microwave, with stairs rising to the first floor. Here the sole bedroom holds a king-size bed and ample storage, again looking out towards Dartmoor, and a shower room with shower, basin and WC completes the layout.

Outside, a patio with furniture and a parasol sits at the front of the cottage, a spot for meals in the summer, alongside off-road parking for one to two cars. Free wireless broadband covers the whole property, and bed linen and towels are supplied, though guests need to bring their own beach towels.

Meadow View does not accept pets, and smoking is not permitted inside. Central heating keeps the cottage comfortable through the seasons, and its rural setting eight miles from the surfing beach at Bigbury and around 20 minutes from Dartmoor National Park makes it a straightforward base for a couple exploring South Devon.
