This former fisherman's cottage sits close to the quay in Appledore, within walking distance of the town's pubs and shops. It sleeps two people in a single double bedroom, making it a good choice for a couple wanting a compact base near the water.

The ground floor is given over to a lounge/diner with exposed beams, a wood burner and a wooden floor, along with a Freeview TV/DVD player and a Bluetooth speaker for quiet evenings in. The kitchen, just off the lounge, has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge with an ice compartment and a washing machine, so guests can cook in or head out to sample the village's restaurants.

A steep, open-tread staircase leads up to the first floor, where the double bedroom has a feature fireplace and there is a separate snug with seating and views across the estuary towards the sea. A shower room with WC completes the accommodation. Logs for the wood burner need to be bought locally.

The cottage has no outside space of its own, though the foreshore is just a few steps away. Dogs are welcome, with up to three permitted and additional charges may apply. Because of the steep stairs, the property is not suitable for infants. There is no dedicated parking, but roadside parking is available locally, or spaces can be pre-booked in Church Fields car park a short distance away for £25 per week, which also has electric vehicle charging points. Internet access is provided.
