Gallantry Bower

Gallantry Bower is a single-storey property sleeping four, set on a working farm in the hamlet of Higher Clovelly, near Bideford. Access to the property is via several external steps or a ramp, which is worth noting when booking for anyone with limited mobility. The lounge/diner is light-filled and looks out over countryside and coastline, with a smart TV/DVD for evenings in.

The layout comprises a double bedroom with its own en-suite shower room and WC, and a separate twin room. A family bathroom serves the rest of the property, fitted with a free-standing bath, a separate shower cubicle and a WC. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, coffee machine, fridge/freezer and a washer/dryer, and a highchair and travel cot are available on request for families travelling with young children.

Outside, an elevated patio to the front holds seating and a charcoal barbecue, with the garden extending down to a lawn and further sea views. Guests staying at Gallantry Bower can also explore parts of the farm, where sheep, pigs, goats, guinea pigs, tortoises and terrapins are kept, and can use the indoor heated swimming pool, which closes daily between 11am and 1pm for cleaning. Private pool sessions can be arranged directly with the owners on arrival.

Two dogs are welcome, with additional charges applying, and dog sitting can be arranged with the owners for a small fee if you plan a day or evening away without your pet. There is ample parking on site and internet access throughout. The property may be decorated for Christmas over the festive period, so those seeking a plain interior at that time should check ahead. Arrival is from 14:30, with departure required by 10:00.
