Beacon Down

Beacon Down forms part of a larger farmhouse near Parracombe in North Devon, adjoining the owners' own home. It sleeps six across three bedrooms and suits families or groups comfortable with a working-farm setting rather than a fully detached property.

Inside, a spacious lounge has a large corner sofa, Freeview TV/DVD player and a wood burner, with one basket of logs provided on arrival. The farmhouse-style kitchen/diner includes an oven, hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, washer/dryer, dishwasher and a Nespresso coffee maker, alongside a wooden dining table and window seat. Upstairs, one king-size bedroom overlooks the garden, a second king-size bedroom has an en-suite shower and WC, and the third bedroom has full-size bunk beds; a family bathroom with a shower over bath and WC serves the remaining rooms.

The garden is mainly laid to lawn with outdoor seating and a barbecue, giving space to sit out or let children run around. Guests can also see the farm's resident sheep and alpacas, and there is an enclosed children's play area with a climbing frame, swings, slide and trampoline, along with a table tennis table. A cot and highchair are available for younger guests, and internet access is provided.

Off-road parking is available on site. Dogs are not permitted, and given the property's position adjoining the owners' home, it suits guests happy with shared farm surroundings rather than complete seclusion. Arrival is from 16:30 and departure is before 10:00.
