Aunty Junes Cottage

Aunty June's Cottage is a converted cottage on a working family farm near Whiddon Down, on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, and has been run by the same family for generations. The kitchen window looks out over the moors, and a boot-room by the entrance suits muddy boots and pets.

The king-size bedroom has its own en-suite with a walk-in shower, heated towel rail and WC, and a twin bedroom is served by a ground-floor bathroom with a bath and a further walk-in shower. A dining room sits beside the sitting room, which has an electric fire and a large ornamental fireplace.

Outside, the enclosed rear garden has gravel, a courtyard and furniture, and guests can also walk the wider grounds, though a pond there means care is needed with young children. A highchair is available on request, and the owner can arrange local sightseeing tours from his own Landrover.

The cottage takes one well-behaved pet and runs to a 3-night minimum stay. There are 2 steps into the property and 2 more into the bathroom, worth noting for anyone unsteady on their feet. Off-road parking is provided for 2 cars, and the nearest pub is 1.2 miles away, with a shop 1.4 miles away. Bed linen, towels, fuel and power are included in the rent.
