Wonham Waters

This single-level log cabin sits along a private woodland drive near Bampton, with Dulverton's shops, pubs and restaurants a short drive away. The setting is secluded, with red deer, foxes and badgers sometimes spotted near the track at dawn or dusk, and Exmoor National Park within reach for walking, pony trekking and other outdoor pursuits.

Inside, an open-plan lounge and diner has sofas, a TV/DVD player, games, a hi-fi and a dining table seating the full party. The kitchen leads off this space and is fitted with an electric oven, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one bunk room with an extra single bed, alongside a single bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. All accommodation is on one level, with the bedroom and bathroom both on the ground floor.

Outside, a large veranda overlooks a private garden and pond kept at a safe distance from the cabin, giving a spot to sit out with a drink. The garden is enclosed. Fly fishing is available close to the cabin, and bikes and kayaks can be hired from the owners by prior arrangement, subject to water levels and equipment availability. Guests are also welcome to bring their own gear for fishing or canoeing.

The cabin sleeps four plus one on the extra single bed in the bunk room, and is supplied by a private water source with wi-fi available on a restricted or limited basis. A cot and highchair are provided for younger guests. Ample parking is available on site, and one dog is welcome per booking, though not under twelve months old, with additional charges possibly applying. Arrival is from 17:30 and departure before 10:00.
