Oakford Retreat

Oakford Retreat is a converted property for two, set in the North Devon village of Oakford next to a dairy farm and reached along a farm lane and cobbled garden path. The layout places the living space on the ground floor and the bedroom upstairs, making it a compact base for a couple rather than a family stay.

Downstairs, the open-plan lounge, kitchen and diner has a sofa and Smart TV alongside a well-equipped kitchen with electric hob and oven, microwave, air fryer, dishwasher and fridge with an ice compartment. A shower room with a rainfall shower and WC completes the ground floor. Upstairs, the king-size double bedroom has an apex ceiling and looks out over the enclosed courtyard garden.

Outside, the gated courtyard garden is fully enclosed and furnished with a table and chairs, along with an outside tap useful for washing off muddy dogs after a walk. Parking is available, though it is not allocated to a specific space, and internet access is provided at the property.

Two dogs are welcome here, though additional charges may apply, and there is no provision for children or babies at this property. A pub sits within about 100 yards and shops are roughly three miles away. Check-in runs from 4pm and check-out is by 11am, with the property well suited to walkers and those pursuing country activities around Exmoor rather than groups needing extra sleeping space.
