Wayside

Wayside is a stone cottage in the South Devon National Landscape, near Kingsbridge. A stone fireplace holds the woodburning stove in the sitting room, with wooden flooring and a corner sofa and an armchair. The kitchen/diner opens through patio doors to the garden, with white cabinetry and a wooden dining table for family meals.

The cottage sleeps 6 across three bedrooms. One super-king room sits on the ground floor next to a shower room with a walk-in shower and underfloor heating; it can be made up as a twin on request. Upstairs, a second super-king and a double with its own TV share a bathroom fitted with a bath. A washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer are on hand for longer stays, and a stairgate, travel cot and highchair are available.

Outside, the enclosed garden has a lawn, a patio and furniture, with countryside views beyond the fence. Roadside parking is provided for one car, and guests are asked to park on the cottage side of the road rather than blocking the village green side.

Wayside welcomes two well-behaved pets, with a stairgate at the bottom of the stairs to keep them on the ground floor. The old cottage has narrow stairs and low doorways at the front door and downstairs shower room, worth knowing before you book, and there is no stairgate on the first floor so young children should be supervised there. Smoking is not permitted. The shop, pub and beach are about a mile away, and Kingsbridge is 4.4 miles. Ask as soon as possible after booking for the bed set-up you want in the two super-king rooms.
