The Woolacombe Bay Hotel

The Woolacombe Bay Hotel stands on South Street in Woolacombe, around a two-minute walk from the beach and the South West Coast Path. The hotel was named Best Large Hotel in Devon for 2025, and its boutique-style bedrooms and suites are each decorated differently.

The Alchemist Spa runs an indoor pool alongside treatment rooms and a heated rasul, and the Bay Lido outdoor pool operates from June to early September with cabana seating for the summer months. SALT Gymnasia covers the gym, yoga and personal training, and tennis, pickleball and basketball courts are free for guests to use.

The Bay Brasserie serves seafood straight off the day boats from mid-morning to dusk, with afternoon tea available daily by advance booking, and NEO Cinema screens films on site for a rainy afternoon. Woolacombe beach itself is rated among the better surf beaches in the UK, with Exmoor National Park a drive away on the other side of the village.

**Best for:** Families and groups wanting a resort-style stay with a pool, spa and cinema all on site, close to the beach.

**Less good for:** Guests looking for a small, quiet hotel - this is a large property built around its leisure facilities.
