The Victoria Hotel & Source Spa

The Victoria Hotel & Source Spa is a four-star hotel on the Esplanade in Sidmouth, owned and run by the Brend family, a long-standing Devon and Cornwall hotel group. Set in five acres of landscaped gardens, the hotel has a lift serving every floor and free on-site parking.

The Jubilee Restaurant holds an AA Rosette for its cooking, and a full English breakfast is served each morning in its dining room; Bertie's Bar and the White Room add more informal food and drinks through the day. Source Spa & Wellness centres on a heated indoor pool, with a sauna, steam room, gym and treatment rooms alongside it, and a putting green sits out on the grounds. A resident orchestra and sun lounge round out the hotel's traditional character.

Sidmouth town centre, with its shops, cafes and pubs, is an easy five-minute walk from the hotel, and Exeter is about 20 minutes away by car. Every summer the town hosts the Sidmouth Folk Festival, eight days of music and dance that fill the seafront and its venues.

**Best for:** guests wanting a spa break or a traditional seaside hotel within walking distance of the town centre.

**Less good for:** guests wanting a modern, minimalist hotel, since the Victoria's character leans traditional, with a resident orchestra and sun lounge.
