The Retreat At Smythapark

The Retreat At Smythapark is a single-bedroom property near Loxhore, close to Barnstaple in North Devon, and sleeps two people. A lobby area for outdoor clothing and boots leads into an open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining space with bi-folding doors onto the patio.

The ground floor living area is centred on a wood burner (with a first basket of logs included) and a TV/DVD player, alongside a kitchen fitted with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice box, and dishwasher. Upstairs, the single bedroom has a super king-size bed and floor-to-ceiling windows, with a contemporary en-suite shower room and WC completing the accommodation.

Outside, an enclosed patio area sits to the front of the property with garden furniture and a charcoal barbecue, alongside private off-road parking and lockable bike storage. Guests also have access to a large enclosed field, useful for exercising a dog. One dog is welcome, with the property suited to small or medium-sized breeds; additional charges may apply.

Wi-Fi is included throughout the stay, and a travel cot and highchair are available on request. The property is decorated for Christmas during the festive season. Due to its remote location, this property is not suitable for guests with electric cars, as the nearest charging point is some distance away, and the property relies on a private water supply.
