The Orchard

The Orchard is an upside-down cottage on a non-working farm next to the owners' farmhouse, around 5 miles from Okehampton and close to the village of Bridestowe. Set over three floors, it sleeps 6 across three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with a further separate WC on the ground floor.

The ground floor has a king-size double bedroom, a shower room and a cloakroom. Wooden stairs lead up to an open-plan living area with a vaulted beamed ceiling, a well-equipped kitchen and a woodburning stove. A separate annexe holds a four-poster bedroom with a bathroom featuring a corner whirlpool bath and a walk-in power shower, while a mezzanine bedroom sits on the second floor.

The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, condenser tumble dryer and dishwasher, and there's a Smart TV, DAB radio and Ultra-Fast Broadband WiFi. A barbecue is available on request.

A front patio area has furniture and a private hot tub under a pergola with a sliding roof, and children must be supervised around both the hot tub and the mezzanine bedroom. A rear garden looks out over Dartmoor's Yes Tor. The Orchard welcomes two well-behaved dogs, with an extra charge per dog for the stay, though as the farm also keeps kittens, chickens, ducks, horses and sheep, dogs must be kept on leads and under control in the yard and adjoining area. Smoking isn't permitted, and the property offers ample secure off-road parking. The village shop and pub are 3 miles away.
