The Corn Tallet

The Corn Tallet sits on a working sheep farm in Westleigh, near Bideford, a reverse-level cottage with its own hot tub and open-plan living upstairs. An external staircase leads up to the kitchen and lounge, while all three bedrooms are on the ground floor below. The cottage sleeps 6.

Two twin rooms and a four-poster double, the double with a shared balcony and en-suite walk-in shower, basin and WC, sit alongside a ground-floor bathroom with a bath, shower over, bidet, basin and WC, plus a separate cloakroom. There are external steps up to the entrance and steps between rooms.

The kitchen has an electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine, and the first-floor living and dining room has a TV with Freeview, DVD player and WiFi. Oil central heating covers the cottage. Guests can also use the shared outdoor heated swimming pool and paddling pool on site, available from late May to early September, and 130 acres of grounds and orchard with terrace sun loungers, shared with the owner and other properties.

The Corn Tallet takes two well-behaved dogs, though dogs aren't permitted in the farm fields because of roaming livestock, and lambing runs across the site from March to the end of April. Ample off-road parking is provided, smoking is not permitted, and bookings need a minimum stay of 3 nights with check-in only on a Monday or Friday. The shop and pub are both a mile away.
