Swallow's Nest At Hatherland Mill

Swallow's Nest is a converted rural cottage in Mid Devon countryside near Lower Washfield, a short drive from Tiverton. The single mezzanine bedroom holds a super-king-size bed with a freestanding roll-top bath in the bedroom itself. The open-plan living space features timber beams, a cobbled floor and a log-burner; a bespoke kitchen includes an electric hob, oven and slimline dishwasher. A handcrafted ladder staircase connects the living area to the mezzanine, and the shower room downstairs has a shower and WC.

The private courtyard is a sheltered outdoor hub for entertaining. A wood-fired pizza oven and Kamado-style ceramic smoker sit ready for use, with outdoor seating arranged for meals. A gate from the courtyard leads directly into meadow beside the river, a natural space where kingfishers and otters have been spotted. The water is deep and fast-flowing, so care is needed near the river when exploring the grounds.

One car can be parked on the property. Towels and logs for the wood-burner are provided. A smart TV and slimline dishwasher ease daily comfort. WiFi can be intermittent due to the rural setting. The nearest pub and shop are 3 miles away. One dog is welcome; additional charges may apply. Arrival is from 16:00 and departure before 10:00.
