Reverse-level Dartmoor barn conversion near Widecombe-in-the-Moor

Pond Cottage is a converted stone barn at Lower Cator, on a quiet country lane about 2.4 miles from Widecombe-in-the-Moor in Dartmoor National Park. It's a reverse-level layout: both bedrooms are on the ground floor, with the kitchen and living space up a wooden open-tread staircase.

The double bedroom has an en-suite walk-in shower, basin, heated towel rail and WC, while the twin room keeps three troughs built into the walls from the building's earlier use. A ground-floor bathroom with a roll-top bath and hand-held shower serves the rest of the cottage.

Upstairs, the open-plan living room has a scissor-beam ceiling, a woodburning stove and a farmhouse table with bench seating alongside a fitted kitchen with a breakfast bar. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine and dishwasher, and gas central heating runs alongside the stove and electric underfloor heating. A starter pack of logs is included with the fuel and power.

Outside, an enclosed rear garden has a lawn, patio and seating for dining outdoors, and one car can park on gravel to the side of the cottage. Two well-behaved, medium-sized pets are welcome, smoking is not permitted, and the property does not take children under 5.
