Furneaux Hatch

Furneaux Hatch is a Grade II listed, 16th-century thatched cottage in the heart of Churchstow in the South Hams. The cottage sleeps 4 across a king-size and a twin bedroom, both served by a ground-floor shower room.

The living/dining room has both a woodburning stove in the inglenook and a gas fire at the dining end, with underfloor heating in the kitchen and bathroom. The galley kitchen has a range-style cooker with an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, toaster, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer and a Nespresso coffee machine, and fast WiFi runs throughout, with TVs in the lounge and master bedroom.

A front courtyard has seating for morning coffee, and the rear lawn and patio have furniture and a barbecue; beach chairs and a cool bag are provided for days out. The rear garden is not fully enclosed and backs onto livestock fields, so guests are asked to supervise pets and children there. A stairgate, travel cot and highchair are available on request at no extra charge, though the staircase itself is steep.

Furneaux Hatch takes one well-behaved dog, and the property is strictly no smoking. The shop is right in the village and the pub is just across the road, with parking available close by.
