Woodstock Retreat

Woodstock Retreat is an all-ground-floor cottage in the hamlet of Birchill, a few miles from Chardstock, with an open-plan kitchen, dining area and sitting room under one roof. It sleeps 2 in a single king-size bedroom with its own en-suite shower, basin and WC, so there are no stairs to manage and no shared landing to cross.

The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice box, toaster and kettle, so cooking a full meal in doesn't mean compromising on equipment. The sitting area has a Smart TV with Freeview and WiFi for evenings in, and electric central heating covers the cottage throughout, with fuel and power, bed linen and towels all included in the rent.

Outside, an enclosed garden has decking, a gravelled area, furniture and a barbecue for outdoor meals, and guests can use the owner's meadow for exercising dogs away from the cottage itself. One well-behaved dog is welcome, with a second considered for an extra charge, so this suits a couple travelling with a pet.

Off-road parking covers one car, with a second vehicle possible by arrangement rather than guaranteed. The nearest shop is 1.3 miles away and the pub 1.2 miles, with the beach around 8 miles for a day trip to the coast. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property, and bookings need a minimum stay of 4 nights.
