Whitecroft Lake

Whitecroft Lake is a single-storey lakeside lodge set within private grounds near Clawton, close to Holsworthy in North Devon. The property sits down a private lane with parking beside the lodge, and guests have exclusive use of an enclosed lake and pasture area during their stay.

The accommodation is a studio-style layout combining lounge, kitchen, dining and sleeping space under one roof, suiting couples looking for a self-contained base. The sleeping area has a king-size bed, and the lounge sofa can be made up as a king-size sofa bed for one additional child, bringing capacity to two adults plus one child. There is a shower room with WC, and the kitchen area includes a two-ring electric hob, combination microwave, air fryer, coffee machine and fridge with an ice compartment. A Smart TV is provided in the lounge.

Outside, the enclosed grounds give direct access to a stocked fishing lake with a centre island, along with a bird-watching hide, seating areas, a BBQ and a fire pit. A riverside walk on the grounds is available to guests and their dogs, and up to two dogs can stay, with an additional charge applying. Fishing conditions on the lake vary with the season and are not guaranteed.

A short walk or drive of under half a mile brings guests to a shared indoor heated swimming pool complex with hot tub, sauna, changing rooms and showers, included at no extra charge and open daily between 9am and 6pm, with time slots bookable directly with the owners. A travel cot and highchair are available on request, making the lodge workable for a family with a young child alongside adult guests. Internet access is provided on site.
