Wayside

Wayside is an elevated Saunton holiday home sleeping eight guests across four bedrooms, reached by an unmade private driveway with allocated parking for three cars. The ground floor opens into a hallway leading to a sea-view lounge with a wood burner, a separate snug that doubles as a games room, and a large kitchen-diner overlooking the beach. The kitchen is equipped with a range cooker, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and microwave, and a utility area off the hallway holds a washing machine, tumble dryer and storage space for surfboards, prams and beach gear.

Upstairs, the four bedrooms are served by a family bathroom with bath, bidet and WC, and a second shower room with WC. The super-king-size zip-and-link room converts to twins on request, and the single room includes a pull-out trundle for an extra bed. A downstairs shower room with WC completes the bathroom provision. A travel cot and highchair are available on request, and up to three dogs are welcome, though additional charges may apply.

A wide terrace wraps along the front of the property, furnished for alfresco dining with a charcoal BBQ and a hot tub. The tiered garden behind is mainly laid to lawn, giving children room to play while adults use the terrace. Sea views extend across the beach and dunes from both the lounge and the terrace.

Saunton Sands beach is roughly a five-minute drive or a fifteen-minute walk along the coastal paths surrounding the property. Croyde village, around 1.5 miles away, has shops, pubs and its own beach.
