The Hive Retreat

This single-floor cottage sits in the village of Tytherleigh, near Axminster, close to the borders of Devon, Somerset and Dorset. It forms part of a small group of joined properties but has its own entrance and private outdoor space, making it a straightforward base for a couple or family of up to four.

The layout is entirely on one level, with a ramp available for increased accessibility. The king-size master bedroom sits to the left of the entrance hall next to the shower room and WC, while the twin bedroom is reached through the open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is fitted with an electric oven and hob, fridge freezer, washing machine, microwave and dishwasher, and there's a Smart TV and an electric feature fireplace in the living space. A dining table seats four.

French doors from the lounge lead to a private, enclosed patio with artificial lawn, outdoor lounge furniture and a gas barbecue. A dog walking field lies adjacent to the property, and one dog is welcome to stay, with additional charges applying. A highchair is available on request, though guests bringing a travel cot should note that limited bedroom space may make it difficult to fit.

Private parking is provided for two cars, and an electric vehicle charging point is available on site at an extra cost payable directly to the owners. A local pub and farm shop are within easy reach, and fishing spots lie a short drive away. Arrival is from 4pm and departure before 10am.
