The Cottage

The Cottage is one of three holiday cottages on a working farm just outside Bideford, adjoining the rear of the owners' farmhouse and overlooking the farmyard and a lake. It's a single-storey building throughout, with an open-plan kitchen and dining area and a separate sitting room warmed by a woodburning stove.

The two bedrooms sleep 6 between them: a double room, and a family room with a double bed plus two single beds and its own en-suite shower room, with a further shower room off the hall. Booking is capped at a maximum of 4 adults and 2 children within that total. A water well feature remains in the hall to the larger bedroom.

The farm's land runs to over 100 acres, with a picnic area, a large play area for children and fishing available on the five on-site lakes by arrangement, licence required. Guests should keep a close eye on children near the fenced lakes. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dryer and dishwasher, plus a TV with Freeview, DVD player and WiFi.

Oil central heating and the woodburning stove cover the cottage, with fuel and a fire starter pack included in the rent. Outside, a shared garden and grounds include a barbecue. Off-road parking is provided for 2 cars. No pets are permitted and smoking is not allowed. The nearest shop is 1.6 miles away, with a pub or restaurant 1.5 miles and the beach around 3 miles.
