The Cloud

This adults-only shepherd's hut stands above Marwood Farm on the edge of Exmoor National Park, close to Cove near Tiverton. It sleeps two and suits couples wanting a quiet countryside base rather than families or groups.

The open-plan interior keeps things compact but well organised, with rustic wooden flooring, exposed beams and ceramic kitchen tiles. The kitchen has a gas hob and oven plus a fridge with an ice-making compartment, while the double bedroom looks out over the surrounding fields and includes a smart TV. Underfloor heating runs throughout, and the shower room has a WC. There is no Wi-Fi at the property.

Outside, a part-fenced gravelled area gives guests a private outlook across the farmland, furnished with a sun umbrella, two wooden chairs and an outdoor hot tub for private use. Private parking sits adjacent to the hut, reached along its own driveway.

One dog is welcome by prior arrangement, with additional charges possible; because this is a working farm, dogs must stay on a lead at all times. Walks lead directly from the hut across the farmland and into the wider Exmoor countryside. The nearest pub and shop are about 1.5 miles away, with Bampton and Dulverton a little further for shops and eateries.
