Tapps Lodge is a thatched cottage in the village of Brixton, near Yealmpton in South Devon, surrounded by woods and farmland. A ground-floor shower room, king-size bedroom and bunk room sit alongside the kitchen/diner and utility room, with a second double bedroom elsewhere in the cottage, giving flexible sleeping for up to 6 guests.
The living room has a woodburning stove and TV, and the kitchen/diner is fitted with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Three TVs, WiFi and an Xbox 360 cover entertainment, and a travel cot is available for younger guests. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the rent.
Outside, the enclosed rear garden has decking, a lawned area and a barbecue for evenings in the fresh air. Off-road parking is provided for four cars, though guests should take care on the public road before turning onto the property. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, and extra logs for the stove can be bought at the Yealmpton garage.
The nearest beaches are Mothecombe and Wembury, with the Ship Inn at Noss Mayo and the Rose & Crown in Yealmpton both within reach for a meal out, and Plymouth a bit further for a bigger day out, with shopping, dining and the National Marine Aquarium. Smoking isn't permitted anywhere inside the cottage.
