Summermoor

Summermoor is a two-bedroom cottage in a small hamlet near Cobbaton, close to Barnstaple, sleeping up to four guests. A cobbled path leads to the front door, and inside the layout keeps things practical, with separate staircases rising to each bedroom rather than a single shared landing.

One bedroom has a king-size bed, while the other has a king-size zip-and-link bed that can be split into twin beds on request, useful for families or friends travelling together. The single family bathroom has a shower over the bath and WC, and there is also a downstairs loo. The kitchen includes an electric oven and hob, microwave and an old Rayburn for character, with a separate utility area housing the dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer.

The sitting room centres on a wood burner, with logs provided, and a Smart TV for quieter evenings. Outside, an enclosed cottage garden offers patio seating and a hammock, plus a BBQ positioned by a wildflower meadow and an outside tap handy for rinsing off after muddy walks. Off-road parking is available for two cars, along with lockable storage for bikes or outdoor gear.

Up to three dogs can stay, though additional charges may apply, and a travel cot and highchair can be provided on request for younger visitors. Wifi is available throughout. Check-in runs from 4pm and check-out is by 10am, and guests should note the cottage is decorated for Christmas during the festive season.
