Staddon House

This house sits at the end of a private driveway near North Tawton, with an entrance hall opening onto an enclosed garden and outdoor dining area. The sitting room has a dual-aspect wood burner and a large Smart TV, while a mosaic-tiled sunroom looks out over the garden and towards a detached games room housing a pool table, table tennis and table football.

The kitchen-diner is fitted for entertaining, with a range cooker, two dishwashers, an American-style fridge-freezer, a wine cooler and a coffee machine. A boot and utility room off the entrance hall has a washing machine, tumble dryer and separate downstairs WC, useful for muddy boots after a walk. Sleeping twelve across six bedrooms and four bathrooms, the layout suits multi-generational groups or gatherings of friends, with the two zip-and-link beds convertible to twins on request.

Outside, seating for twelve surrounds a private hot tub and charcoal barbecue, with soft lighting for evenings in the garden. The hot tub is drained and refilled between bookings, so it may take time to reach temperature on the first night. Off-road parking is available for several cars, along with an electric vehicle charging point, and there is secure storage for bikes.

As a family home, the owners do not accept group, hen or stag party bookings. Up to three dogs are welcome, with additional charges applying, and a travel cot and highchair can be provided for younger guests. A pub and restaurants are within the village itself.
