Salterns River

This property combines a farmhouse and a converted barn into a single let by the River Torridge at Weare Giffard, near Bideford. It sleeps up to 14 guests across seven bedrooms and suits larger family groups or gatherings who want space to spread across two connected buildings rather than a single house.

The farmhouse holds three bedrooms (super-king, king-size, twin and double options) and the main dining space, while the barn's bedrooms are arranged over both floors, including a super-king zip and link, a double and a twin zip and link room, plus a ground-floor bedroom. Between the two buildings there are six bath and shower rooms: two shower rooms and a bathroom in the farmhouse, and a bathroom with separate shower, a wet room and a shower room in the barn. The barn's living space sits in an upside-down arrangement, putting the main lounge upstairs with river views, corner sofas, armchairs and a Smart TV with Sky package. A wood burner is set up with an initial basket of logs, and further snug seating areas are found in both buildings for those wanting to peel off from the main group.

Each building has its own kitchen: the farmhouse kitchen includes dual electric ovens, a dishwasher, wine cooler and coffee machine, with a separate utility area holding a washing machine and tumble dryer, while the barn kitchen has an electric range oven, induction hob, dishwasher and coffee machine, with its own utility area and washing machine. Underfloor heating runs through the property. Outside, guests have an enclosed garden with seating, a private hot tub, and a games barn fitted with a pool table and table tennis. Parking is available on site for up to six cars.

A highchair and travel cot are provided for younger guests, and up to three dogs are welcome, though additional charges may apply. Internet access is available throughout the property.
