This Grade II-listed thatched cottage stands in West Buckland, within a mile of Bantham Beach and Thurlestone. A carved ship's timber, salvaged from a vessel wrecked at Hope Cove in 1879, forms part of the staircase in the entrance hallway.

The country kitchen and diner has an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and espresso machine, with a table seating six overlooking the garden. A separate utility room holds a washing machine and tumble dryer, useful for muddy boots after coastal walks, and leads to a WC. The lounge has original painted beams, a wood burner with a first basket of logs included, a Smart TV and a window seat, with patio doors onto the garden.

Upstairs, the master bedroom has a king-size bed and en-suite shower room. The remaining king-size double and twin bedroom are up five steps from the landing and share a shower room with a walk-in shower and WC, meaning two shower rooms and a separate downstairs WC serve the three bedrooms in total. Sleeping up to six, the cottage suits family groups or friends travelling together.

Outside, an enclosed traditional cottage garden has a patio and garden furniture, while a small private courtyard to the rear catches the morning sun and holds a bistro set. No barbecues are permitted because of the thatched roof. One car can be parked in the allocated space, with further roadside parking available in the village, and a travel cot and highchair can be provided on request. Dogs are not accepted at this property.
