Nethercott House

Nethercott House is a Victorian house in the village of Iddesleigh, near Hatherleigh, spread over three floors and sleeping up to 47 across nine bedrooms and eight bathrooms. Used in term time by a children's charity, it becomes a base for large family gatherings or groups of friends at other times of year.

The first floor holds eight bedrooms: five dormitory-style bunk rooms with 2'6" beds, sleeping four, three, four, four and five, two twin rooms and a single that converts to a double on request, most with their own shower room and two sharing landing shower rooms. The second floor has a further king-size bedroom next to a light work room.

Downstairs, a large hall opens to a sitting room with a wood burning stove, a grand dining room and a well-equipped kitchen with a pantry. A games room has table tennis and table football, and there's WiFi, a phone and a selection of books, though the property has no TV. Central heating and electric panel heaters keep the house warm, backed by the wood burning stove, with fuel, power and a starter pack included in the rent.

Outside there's a large garden with lawn, furniture and a fire pit, plus two ponds and Dartmoor views, though the drop in the garden is unfenced so children need supervising. A highchair and cot are available on request, and off-road parking is provided for 8 cars. The property is nut-free throughout, with no nuts or nut-containing food allowed on the farm, no smoking, no fireworks due to nearby livestock, and towels are not provided. Sorry, no pets.
