Nestling Barn

Nestling Barn is a detached, stone-built barn conversion on an ecological farm in the Dartmoor National Park, a mile and a half by car from the small village of Peter Tavy and close to Tavistock. The property is reached via narrow rural lanes that are degraded and potholed in places. The barn is all on the ground floor, reached down two steps, with a further step up into the bedroom. It sleeps 2 in a single double bedroom with an en-suite shower room.

Inside is an open-plan living area with a tiled floor, a compact kitchen and a two-seater sofa looking out over the back garden and across Dartmoor. One step up leads to the double bedroom with its en-suite shower, basin and WC. A patio outside the living area is set up for outdoor dining, with a lawned garden beyond running down to a fenced boundary.

The kitchen has an electric oven, halogen hob, microwave and fridge, and there's a TV with Freeview, a DVD player and WiFi. A cot and highchair are available on request. Off-road parking is provided for one car, and the barn has direct access to Dartmoor without crossing any roads.

Nestling Barn takes one well-behaved dog, though dogs aren't allowed in the bedroom and the garden fence isn't secure enough for a determined escaper. Smoking isn't permitted anywhere on the property because of the amount of straw and hay nearby. The shop is 4 miles away and the pub, 1.5 miles, is uphill on the way back.
