Lower Knowle Cottages

This complex of three converted barns and a stone cottage stands in the village of Broadhempston, within reach of Totnes. The four cottages can be booked together for up to 18 guests or individually: Bovey Cottage sleeps 2, Teign Cottage sleeps 4, and Plym and Dart Cottages each sleep 6. Between them there are 9 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, giving each group its own self-contained space while sharing the wider grounds.

Bovey Cottage, the smallest, has exposed beams over three floors with a king-size bedroom and shower room above a lounge with wood burner and Smart TV. Teign Cottage offers open-plan living with slate floors, a king-size and a twin bedroom, and a bathroom with shower over bath. Plym Cottage is arranged over a reverse level, with an all-white kitchen and wood-burning lounge downstairs and three bedrooms above, including a double with en-suite shower room. Dart Cottage is entered through French doors into a spacious kitchen and has three bedrooms up a circular staircase, one king-size with an en-suite and a family bathroom completing the layout. Most kitchens include a dishwasher, and each cottage has an electric or 4-ring hob oven, microwave and fridge.

Outdoors, each cottage has its own designated but unenclosed private space, plus shared access to lawns, orchard and community woodland. Guests booking the whole complex have exclusive use of an indoor heated swimming pool and a sunken hot tub on the veranda, though children need supervision around both. A shared laundry provides a washing machine and tumble dryer with complimentary tablets, and travel cots and highchairs are available on request if arranged in advance ahead of arrival. Bikes can be stored securely on site.

Private parking is available in a shared car park with 8 spaces in total, and internet access is provided though mobile signal is variable. Up to 6 dogs are welcome across the properties, with additional charges applying, and each cottage has its own dog allowance. Because of its quiet rural setting, the complex is not suitable for stag, hen or other noisy parties. Arrival is from 16:00 and departure before 09:30.
