Little owl cottage

Sitting on a working farm in Shaugh Prior, near Plymouth, this one-bedroom cottage sleeps two and takes no dogs or children. Arrival is from 16:00 and departure by 10:00, which suits a couple's break rather than a flexible family schedule.

The ground floor opens with a porch for boots and coats before leading into an open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining space. An electric-flame-effect fire adds warmth and atmosphere to the sitting area, while the kitchen is fitted with an electric oven and hob, fridge-freezer, microwave and dishwasher. Smart TVs are provided in both the lounge and the bedroom. Upstairs, the super-king-size zip-and-link bed can be reconfigured as twins on request, and the bathroom has a shower over the bath with WC.

A patio with seating sits outside for morning coffee or an evening drink, with farm horses nearby. Private parking for one car is included. A pub is half a mile away, the nearest shop five miles, and internet access is available at the property.

Dartmoor walking and cycling routes start close by: the Dewerstone circular walk is under a mile away and the Drake's Trail cycle route just under two miles. Bovisand Beach is twelve miles for a coastal day, while spa and golf facilities at Elfordleigh Hotel are three miles away.
