Little Acorn

Little Acorn is a first-floor annexe in the hamlet of Lake, near Tawstock and about a mile from the town of Barnstaple, reached by steps up to an open-plan sitting area with kitchen and dining space. The king-size bedroom has a Velux window and its own en-suite shower room, basin and WC, and the property is set up for couples rather than families: no children or infants are taken.

Doors from the sitting room open onto a balcony over the surrounding countryside, for the annexe's own use, though the balcony stairs are currently out of use (the balcony itself remains usable). Guests also have access to a garden shared with the owners, and the whole layout suits a quiet, self-contained stay away from the main house.

The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher, and there's a TV with Freeview plus WiFi. Heating is oil-fired, with fuel, power, bed linen and towels all included in the rent. Off-road parking is provided in the courtyard.

Little Acorn does not accept pets, and smoking isn't permitted. The nearest shop and pub are around 1.5 miles away, and Barnstaple's train station is about a mile from the property, making it a useful base for exploring the Tarka Trail on foot or by bike.
