Hope Cottage

Hope Cottage stands in the centre of Buckfastleigh, a stone-built cottage with the kitchen and living space on the ground floor and a double bedroom upstairs, furnished with plenty of storage. A few steps lead up to the kitchen, worth knowing if mobility is a concern for anyone in your group. The cottage sleeps 2, with a shower room next to the bedroom on the first floor, fitted with a walk-in shower and heated towel rail.

The ground-floor living/dining room is warmed by a woodburning stove, with fuel, power and a starter for the fire included in the rent. The kitchen is fitted with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher, and a dining table seats guests for meals in. A Smart TV and WiFi cover the evenings, and bed linen and towels are included.

Outside, the south-facing rear courtyard has furniture for sitting out, plus an outdoor tap for rinsing off muddy boots or paws after a walk on Dartmoor. Hope Cottage takes one well-behaved dog. There's no private parking, but a public car park sits nearby, and the shop is 0.2 miles away with a pub a further 0.1 miles on.

Bookings run to a minimum of 3 nights and can't start on a Thursday. The property isn't suitable for children under 5, since it leads straight onto the road, and smoking isn't permitted inside. A camera covers the front door and street for security, and heating is electric throughout.
